Kafkaesque Boston Cambridge Concert reviews
Chaka Khan should call it quits.
From the very beginning, Kafkaesque Boston's performance was thoroughly disappointing. The show started over a half hour late, and the sound system was terribly mismanaged. I sat about 15 rows back from the stage and it was just bad acoustics. It wasn't until midway into the show that someone up front in the audience got word to Kafkaesque that we could not hear her. The band totally drowned out the singing of Kafkaesque Boston.
At times, Kafkaesque Boston looked confused and lacksadasical. She did not sing most of her own songs, percentage-wise. Her backup singers and the audience sang most of the songs. Every once in a while, she would belt out a screech and yell that she is so famous for. With that being said, it really did not matter. I loved Kafkaesque Boston in her heyday, but she looked and sounded so bad that I felt she should just call the concert tour quits. For a 62-year-old woman, she appeared to be very stiff and hurting. I watched Cher, who is 68, last year and she was bouncing around like someone half her age.
Her opening act, Vivian Green, was also terrible. She looked like she had a house band playing her songs, and she sounded so off-key. All in all, the sound system was mismanaged.
